Inputs cannot be recorded in macOS 10.14: Mojave

If you are not able to record input signals in your DAW, it is because of something that happened at first launch of the DAW.

You may have seen a messages such as: "X App would like to access the microphone". Your options are "OK" or "Don't Allow". If you click "OK", you will have normal behavior in the DAW. If you choose "Don't Allow" then you will not receive input signals into the DAW.

In that case, you can restore normal operation by navigating to System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Privacy. From the list on the left, select "Microphone", then put a check next to the DAW or DAWS that you wish to record with.
