Problem: The AES16e will not be seen by the HP Z240 computer and will the driver will not load. The LED on the top of the card will not illuminate at all.
Solution: In the Z240 BIOS change the setting under Advanced called "Early PCIe Delay". The default value of this is "Disabled" and it must be set to "Enable" in order for the AES16e to be seen by the HP Z240 computer and the drivers to load.
For reference, the LED on the top of the AES16e has four states to show the status of the card:
1) Off. No power to the card or the PCI Express slot is disabled.
2) Dim. The card is receiving power, but the firmware did not load. Check the PROM jumper.
3) Flashing. The firmware loaded but the driver has not been loaded yet.
4) On solid. The driver loaded successfully.
