My computer is not recognizing the Lynx card. What could be wrong?
Verify that the Lynx card is properly seated in a PCIe slot. You might also try to clean the PCIe contacts with a clean cloth and some Isoprophyl in case there is any corrosion on the contacts.
Make sure that the current Lynx drivers for the card are installed. Check that the driver system requirements to insure that your computer has compatible elements. f possible, see what the LED on the AES16e card is doing, there are four possible states: A) LED is Brightly Lit. The card is communicating correctly with computer had a hardware level, Your problems is likely in the software domain. B) LED is Dimly lit. The firmware is not loaded. Try jumpering the card for Prom 1 and try again (explained below). C) the LED is Flashing. This is generally a driver problem. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the current drivers. D) The LED is not lit at all. In this case there is either a hardware problem with the card, a problem with the PCIe slot, a compatibility issue, or a firmware issue. Jumper for Prom 1 and test again.
The AES16e has two EEPROMs onboard. If the firmware gets corrupted, this allows the user to switch to an alternate prom to resolve the problem. Here are the steps: A) Turn off and unplug the computer and remove the AES16e card. B) On the Component side of the board there is a multi-pin connector with a sheath around it. Next to this are three pins labelled JP7. Two of the pins are capped with a jumper. C) Next to the capped pins it is silk screen "Prom 2". Remove the jumper and place it one pin over, by the side labelled "Prom 1". The middle pin will still be capped. D) Return the card to its slot, plug in and turn on the computer. E) If the OS now recognizes the card, run the latest firmware updater for the card. F) When complete, shut down computer. G) Remove the AC cord, remove the card, and put the jumper back to its original position. on the side labeled Prom 2. H) Reinstall the card and boot into the OS. The card should now operate with the current firmware.
If the card still is not seen with the jumper on Prom 1, there is either a problem with the card or the computer's PCIe slot. Contact Lynx Technical Support for next troubleshooting steps.
